Did you have a good Memorial Day weekend, if you celebrate such a thing? I certainly hope so. Few things beat a sunny long weekend with friends and family. And the following four-day work week. Nothing beats that either (except maybe a three-day work week).
I was lucky enough to spend my extended weekend with a whole slew of people I like including friends, parents, Teh Boyfriend, TBF’s family, and even my brother and his girlfriend who flew in from their respective states for a wedding. Good times were had by all. *confetti*
Sunday my family and TBF spent the day at Lake Lanier with some good food and kayaking. Plus, my father made and oldie-but-goodie recipe of his – dutch oven peach cobbler. Even for someone like me who doesn’t particularly care for peaches, this recipe always kills. Probably because it’s mostly cake and sugar. Mmm.
Whenever the family’s together we tend to reminisce on the same stories about cobbler, including the fact that I “don’t like peaches” but still manage to eat my share of the dessert, as well as the famous blueberry cobbler fiasco in which we all ended up eating green cake out of the dutch oven. Always good times.
There’s not a whole lot to say about this recipe in particular, other than that it’s great for a picnic, and I’m sure is just as easy to make if you don’t have a dutch oven (just throw it in a 9×9 or 9×13 pan and stick in in the oven at 350F). So next time you’re out in the sun with friends, consider this easy-peasy recipe.
