Holy moley, Batman! SDCC is in THREE DAYS. My buddy Vasili and I were able to get tickets again for this year, and we were able to pull in 2 additional friends as well!
I am so excited.
Last week the SDCC web site released the schedule for the con, and there’s some big names and super interesting (or just plain fun) panels in my future including:
- Star Wars Origami – Exactly what it sounds like. I missed this last year and it sounds like too much fun to miss a second time!
- The World’s End: Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost Reunited – this is going to be tough to get into, but who wouldn’t want to be there for an hour with these 3?
- Live Forever: The Ray Bradbury Odyssey – there were a lot of Bradbury panels last year, all of which I missed, so I’m looking forward to this one.
- Adventure Time Comic Book Panel – I’m a giant sucker for Ryan North the writer of the Adventure Time comics. I’ll suppress my squees as necessary.
Here’s a look at the schedule I’ve tentatively laid out for myself:
Beyond the plethora of panels (alliteration, ha-HA!) there’s Magic: The Gathering going on all week I’m hoping to take part in, Saturday’s Masquerade (we missed it last year since we weren’t able to get 4-day passes), and the presence of some exciting big names like Faith Erin Hicks (one of my favorite cartoonists) and even author Neil Gaiman! Essentially, it’s going to be a wonderful romp in comics, books, and games, and I’m totally looking forward to it.
Keep reading if you care about any of this!
If any of the above interests you, you can keep up with my week at SDCC via multiple avenues! Internet-permitting I’ll be updating the blog daily, but either way I’ll be tossing occasional updates on Twitter, and hopefully posting regular updates on Tumblr (which should propagate to Facebook as well). Follow me at any of those locations for what will probably be a lot of ridiculous pictures and tidbits on what’s happening at the con.
Talk to you again in a few days!
